Ingredients

  • 1/2 cups Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cups Water
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tsp. freshly grated Ginger
  • 1 tbsp. Oyster Sauce
  • 3 tbsp. Rice Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • 1/3 tsp. grounded White Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. Dried Hot Chillie Pepper optional
  • 3-4 tbsp. Honey adjust slowly to get the right sweetness desired!
  • 2 tsp. Corn Starch

Instructions

  • In a blender, combine soy sauce, minced garlic cloves, freshly grated ginger, honey, lemon juice, rice vinegar, cornstarch, white pepper, oyster sauce, and water.
  • Blend the ingredients until smooth.
  • After blending all the ingredients, you may notice that the sauce has a very light color. Don't be discouraged! As the sauce cooks, it will gradually develop its signature sticky honey ginger hue. So, be patient and allow it to simmer until it reaches the desired consistency and color.
  • Transfer the mixture to a pot and place it on the stove over medium heat.
  • Allow the sauce to come to a gentle boil, stirring constantly.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 5-10 minutes, or until it thickens and absorbs all the flavors.
  • Once the sauce reaches the desired consistency, add dried hot chili peppers for an extra kick of heat.
  • Stir well and then remove the sauce from the heat.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.
  • Enjoy your homemade honey ginger sauce with your favorite dishes!
