Strawberry Citrus Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Grapefruit
- 1 cup Strawberry
- 1 tsp. thin sliced Lemongrass
- 1 cup plain Yoghurt
- 1 Medjool Date
- 4 fresh Basil Leaves
Instructions
- Wash and prepare the strawberries by removing the hulls. You can also use frozen ones.
- Cut the grapefruit into quarters and remove the flesh from each quarter, ensuring to remove any seeds and bitter white parts.
- In a blender, add the halved strawberries, grapefruit chunks, plain yogurt, pitted Medjool dates, chopped lemongrass, ice cubes and fresh basil leaves.
- Blend the ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy.
- After blending, check the consistency of the smoothie. If it's too thick, you can add a splash of water or more yogurt to thin it out. If it's too thin, you can add additional strawberries or ice cubes to thicken it.
- Taste the smoothie and assess the sweetness. If you'd like it sweeter, you can add an extra Medjool date or a drizzle of Agave Nectar and blend again until well combined.
- Once the smoothie reaches your desired consistency and sweetness, pour it into glasses.
